Dr. Jacob Scott
President and Chairman, Board Member
Dr. Scott, MD, is board certified in radiation oncology. He is a veteran of the US Navy submarine force. Dr. Scott is a physician-scientist at Cleveland Clinic and also serves as an Associate Cancer Center Director for Data Science at Case Western University and runs an NIH funded laboratory studying evolutionary therapy. Dr. Scott graduated college from the U.S. Navy Academy and attended medical school at Case Western Reserve University. He conducted his residency at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and also attended and obtained degrees from Old Dominion University and St. Anne’s College, Oxford University in the UK.
Dr. Daniel Ladd
Treasurer, Board Member
Dr. Ladd, Jr., D.O. is dermatologist, ASDS Mohs surgeon, founder of Tru-Skin Dermatology, co-founder of SkinCure Oncology, and co-founder of The Shade Project. Dr. Ladd is a lifetime member of the Skin Cancer Foundation’s Amonette Circle, an elite group of the country’s foremost dermatologists and Mohs surgeons who have made a commitment to skin cancer education and prevention.
Candace Osborne
Secretary, Board Member
Candace Osborne, B.S.R.T.(T)(ARRT) is a board-certified radiation therapist who has worked in hospital and free-standing cancer treatment centers prior to transitioning to the dermatology setting. Candace is one of the first therapists in the country to specialize in the treatment of skin cancer using image-guided superficial radiation therapy. Candace is currently Chief Radiation Therapist for SkinCure Oncology.
Dr. Kenneth Melani
Board Member
Dr. Melani is currently the owner of KRM Group LLC, a healthcare consulting firm, and managing director of Velocity Fund Partners LLC, a life sciences venture capital fund. He started his career as a practicing Internist where he founded and later became Chairman and CEO of a physician-hospital organization called West Penn Cares. Over the next twenty-five years he served in a variety of executive leadership roles at Highmark Inc, culminating as the President and CEO from 2003-2012. He was credited with growing Highmark into one of the leading healthcare companies in the United States and personally regarded as one of the top healthcare executives in the country. Dr. Melani received his BA from Washington and Jefferson College, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude, and went on to receive a Doctorate of Medicine from The Wake Forest University School of Medicine.
Dr. Lio Yu
Board Member
Lio Yu, MD is currently the Director of Radiation Oncology at Laserderm and a Yale graduate in molecular biophysics and biochemistry. He was previously the Clinical Director of Radiation Oncology at Eastchester for Cancer Care and Cancer Care of Western New York, as well as the Chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Good Samaritan Hospital. Dr. Yu is board certified in radiation oncology and has rotated through prestigious cancer hospitals, including Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Harvard “Joint Center for Radiation Therapy.” including Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Dana Farber Cancer Institute. He has expertise in treating all adult solid tumors and using various radiation therapy techniques with particular interest and experience in head & neck and cutaneous neoplasms. He has published numerous articles in cancer treatment and research and has presented at national and international medical conferences. He is an active member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and the New York Roentgen Society.
